SHAKESPEARE NOW! THEATRE COMPANY'S SCHOOL TOURING SEASON

February 2 - June 2009:  Romeo and Juliet

In the world's most famous love story, two teenagers find love within an atmosphere of hate. Shakespeare's beautiful language interweaves romance, love, and family with mistrust, danger, and violence.  A must see for students.


February 23 - June 2009:  A Midsummer Night's Dream

Follow four young Athenian lovers and six Rude Mechanicals into Oberon's enchanted woods in which all things are possible; even the impossible. Shakespeare's most brilliant comedy is filled with mischief, magic, and mix-ups! How does it all resolve?

March 16 - June 2009: Macbeth

Unbounded ambition, kindled by imaginings of the supernatural, leads to murder upon murder in the brilliant Scottish play. A look at the consequences of the corrupt uses of power.


*    Dialogue consists solely of the original Shakespeare text
*    Action is vividly and clearly staged
*    Themes include love and romance, civil and family conflict, ambition, political intrigue and power struggles
*    Comprehensive study guide to the play sent in advance of performance
*    Question-and-answer period follows the show
